Each day nearly one hundred americans die by suicide, that's over 36,000 deaths per year.
Facebook recently launched a new feature that will aid in suicide prevention.
The over 800 million users can now utilize a chat service that will prompt them to speak to a crisis counselor.
Enter the words "suicide help" on facebook's search bar. You will find a link that shows how you can help someone who has posted suicidal content on the site. It then prompts you to fill out a few questions concerning the individual.
Facebook then sends an e-mail to the person who posted the suicidal comment, encouraging them to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or click a link that will begin a confidential chat.
