The City of Brownsville held a swearing in ceremony for two new city commissioners on Thursday evening.

John Villarreal was sworn in as commissioner for the District 4 seat and Estela Chavez Vasquez was sworn in as the At Large A commissioner. Both Villarreal and Vasquez won their seats after a run-off election on Saturday. For the first time four female commissioners now sit on the city council in Brownsville.
