New Brownsville City Commissioners Sworn In

Two Brownsville city commissioners were sworn in on Tuesday evening at City Hall.

New commissioners Melissa Zamora and Dr. Rose Gowen were sworn in with the oath of office. Newcomer Zamora unseated longtime Brownsville Commissioner Carlos A. Cisneros and capturing the District 3 slot. Zamora won the runoff election over Cisneros with nearly 58% of the vote. The At-Large B candidate Dr. Rose M. Gowen got the most votes with just over 55% and beat out three other candidates for the position.
