New Border Patrol Chief is Sworn In

There's a new Chief in town and he has big plans for the upper valley. Several U.S. Border Patrol agents along with local and federal law enforcement agencies. Officially welcomed Chief Patrol Agent Rosendo Hinojosa to the family.
"Rosendo Hinojosa brings with him a tremendous amount of experience, a tremendous amount of confidence that we have in him in carrying out the responsibilities, which are huge down here in South Texas," says USCBP Deputee Commissioner David Aguilar.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection considers the change of command a critically important event.
Chief Hinojosa will lead over 2400 men and women who patrol and protect our borders.
Chief Hinojosa has a lot on his agenda  but he says he's ready for any challenge.

Drug smugglers and human trafficking aren't the only issues on Hinojosa's mind. He says the community is will be one of his top priorities.
He says, "My intention is to not work only with the law enforcement community but with the whole that we could reach out and develop friendships and relationships with people that are living along the border area and away from the border area that are impacted by the crime that occurs within our border region."
