NewsCenter 23’s Matt Fernandez reports that residents of a San Juan neighborhood are free to return to their homes following a brief evacuation. The “all clear” was issued about 3:15 p.m.

Earlier, police had ordered an evacuation of the neighborhood surrounding the intersection of Fresno and Garfield after a traffic stop revealed what appeared to be a grenade inside a vehicle. Police now confirm the device was NOT a live grenade. Police have detained the driver of the vehicle for questioning. More details from NewsCenter 23 as they become available.
