Nearly $3 million seized in heroin and cocaine by CBP
MISSION, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Custom and Border Protection officers intercepted close to $3 million in narcotics at a Pharr port of entry.
On Wednesday evening, May 8, CBP officers, working the Pharr International Bridge encountered a black 2005 Chevy Silverado truck driven by a Mission man, 23, who was referred to a secondary inspection.
Officers inspected the vehicle with a X-Ray system which indicated suspected packages of narcotics concealed within the truck.
CBP agents removed nine packages of alleged heroin weighing over 25 pounds and five packages of alleged cocaine weighing over 12 pounds.
It is estimated that the street value for the heroin is $2,553,000 and the cocaine estimated at $397,000.
