Nearly $1.6M in cocaine seized at port of entry

U.S. Custom officers, working the Los Indios port of entry, seized over $1.5 million in cocaine over the weekend.

On Saturday, August 7th CBP officers came into contact with a 29 year-old man from Centro Monterey, Mexico, who was driving a 2012 Ford Edge.

He was sent to a secondary inspection where officers found 19 packages, weighing over 49 lbs., of alleged cocaine hidden in the vehicle.

The seizure has an estimated street value of $1,568,000, the driver was arrested and handed over to Homeland Security investigators for further questioning.
