National Night Out

HIDALGO COUNTY - National Night Out kicks off tomorrow across Hidalgo County and the nation. Several different law enforcement agencies including the McAllen and Edinburg Police, and the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department.

They'll be set up to meet their community.

National Night Out is a nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program.

The McAllen Police Department has been participating in this event for over 20 years, and is encouraging everyone to come and be apart of the fun and entertainment.

"So this is our chance to be with them and talk to them, they have an opportunity to ask questions about crime fighting, crime prevention, what the officers are doing, and for that matter who the officers are in their area," said Sgt. Joel Morales, McAllen Police Department.

Festivities will start at 6:00 p.m. and go until 10:00 p.m.

Las Palmas Community Center: 1821 N. 25th Street, McAllen

Los Encinos Police Network Center: 2901 W. Olga, McAllen

Penitas Veterans Memorial Park: 1107 S. Main, Penitas

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church: Highland & 84th Street, San Carlos

Edinburg Municipal Park: Edinburg
