PHARR- Police made the pick-up truck, that the Davis' were driving on that horrific Wednesday, available for the media on Saturday. The passenger's seat stained by Nancy's blood after being shot at on a Mexican highway about 70 miles south of Reynosa. Autopsy results indicate that Mrs. Davis died from a single gunshot wound to the back of her head. A closed funeral was held for Nancy Davis on Sunday at their Monte Alto home.
Police have learned that an additional two trucks were observed off on the side of the highway after they were fired upon and appeared to have a part in the crime. Police have no description on the vehicles. Last week released that the victim's spouse told them that the men in the black truck they encountered were working with two light colored trucks that paralleled them in efforts of attempting to pull them over.
According to police, while Sam Davis was driving towards the border, he noticed several Mexican Law enforcement in marked police cars were on a traffic stop further down the highway. Sam Davis told Mexican Law enforcement about his wife and the pursuing suspects. They were then escorted by Mexican law enforcement to the Pharr International Bridge. Nancy Davis later died at the hospital that day.
Investigations continue by law enforcement agencies in Pharr and in Mexico. The FBI, ICE and the Texas Department of Public Safety are also involved in the matter.
There is still no motive on the case. Police said that criminal organizations operating on Mexican roads are targeting four-door pick-up trucks and other SUV's. It is unknown at this time whether the suspects were targeting the victim's pick-up truck. As of right now no information is known as to what criminal organization was responsible for the murder.
