Stranger pulls drowning man to safety, then vanishes. Jeff Skrzypek reports.

(WPTV) Caught in a rip current and about to drown, a Lake Worth, Florida man was rescued on Monday from the ocean all thanks to the heroics of a mysterious skimboarder who quickly disappeared after saving the man.

John Zenson, 30, said he was swimming at the beach while it was unguarded. He overestimated his swimming skills and underestimated the power of the ocean when the waves caught him off guard.

"I was like 'oh my God, I'm exhausted. I can't really swim right now.' And then I went under a couple of times. 'Oh yeah, I'm done for,' " said Zenson.

Just as Zenson was about to give up someone jumped in to rescue him.

The stranger swam out to Zenson, fought against the waves and offered his skimboard for support.
