HOSUTON, TEXAS - A Houston mother is accused of attacking her daughter with a machete.

Ana Cristina Canales is charged with aggravated assault. Investigators say Canales pulled out a machete and attacked her 17 year old daughter. Police arrived on the scene near downtown Houston on the night of July 3 to find Canales drunk and apologetic. Canale's daughter was not seriously injured. The need and her two brothers, ages six and eleven, are now in custody of child protective services.
