Missing man survives 19 days in the wilderness
An incredible survival story out of California, where a 72 year-old California man is back home after being lost in the wilderness for 19 days.
Gene Penaflor and a buddy went hunting in the Mendocino National Forest on September 24th. The two split up to hunt deer, Penaflor became disoriented when a fog rolled in, he slipped and fell and injured his leg.
Armed with just a few trash bags, a Bic lighter and several bullets, Penaflor survived off of algae, a snake and three squirrels and he built a shelter under a tree.
A search group found Penaflor Saturday three miles from where he disappeared.
