A Brownsville logistics worker says a new so called "Mexican super highway" will help businesses here in the United States.

Cargo U-S-A is a logistics company in Brownsville, they transport raw materials and finished products all over Mexico and the United States.

They have many clients including maquiladoras in Matamoros that use raw materials that come from Asia.

Those materials come overseas on a boat and are dropped off in the Southern Mexican city of Mazatlán.

Steve Perez, a master broker with cargo Usa says their trucks then take trips daily between Mazatlán and Matamoros transferring those materials to their clients.

Perez says a new Mexican super highway is really going to benefit his company as well as others.

"You stop and go, stop and go, city, city, city so that's long, and on the mountains you have to go 20 miles per hour but with the new infrastructure and the tunnels you do not have too many stops and goes and that continues for efficiency for your transport."

Perez says this will cut their travel time by several hours.

"The way it stands now it could be 16 - 18 hours, but with the new infrastructure that i have, the understanding will have an opening ceremony in November then that will cut it by half, because they will be able to cross the highway in 10-12 hours."

Perez says he looks forward that opportunity when he expects the highway will open in later in the fall.

He will also be trying to attend the opening later this fall.
