Officials Say It's Not the First Time

Customs officials at the Donna International Bridge have confirmed that Mexican military members made their way onto U.S. soil earlier today. Traffic at the Donna Rio Bravo International bridge was suspended for quite some time this afternoon as four Mexican military trucks crossed into the U.S.

CBP Spokesperson Felix Garza says, "Apparently they lost sight of the international boundary. They arrived across at the Donna Rio Bravo International bridge."

U.S. Customs and Border Protection processed 33 Mexican military members. Officials believe the incursion was just an accident. This isn't the first time military trucks have lost sight of international lines.
Just a few months ago bridge cameras captured military members crossing into the U.S. at the Anzalduas port of entry.
Bridge officials told Newscenter 23 back then that the incursion was an honest mistake.
To avoid even more confusion, changes were made to the bridge.
CBP officials tell us they have no reason to feel threatened by any incursion.

There hasn't been another incursion at the Anzalduas International bridge since those changes were made.
We'll hear from bridge officials soon if they plan to do the same for Donna.
