Mexican Authorities Arrest Top Zeta Leader
The Mexican government says the third in command of the Zeta drug cartel has been arrested.
Jesus Enrique Rejon Aguilar was also sought by the DEA for his alleged involvement in the killing of Brownsville ICE agent Jaime Zapata in Mexico earlier this year. There was a $5 million dollar reward for his arrest by the United States government. Mexican authorities say Rejon was in charge of Zeta operations in the state of San Luis Potosi when agent Zapata was ambushed and killed there. Rejon is also known as El Mamito and was one of the original group that founded the Zetas.
