The trial continued in the case against Roberto Antonio Alvarez who is charged with causing serious bodily injury to his daughter.
Two and half year-old Mariah Farley died from those injuries and Medical Examiner Dr. Farley testified to bruising on the toddler, along with bite marks on her back and injuries to her kidney and liver. The trial will continue Tuesday when the defense starts calling witnesses. Last July a jury sentenced Mariah's mother, Melissa Lucio, to death for the same crime. She became the first woman in Cameron county to be sent to death row.
