The McAllen School District met the man who may soon lead their district.

Jame Ponce is the finalist for the position of School Superintendent and he visited McAllen's three high schools and met with principals, teachers, and students before going to a private luncheon at the McAllen Convention Center on Thursday.

Ponce worked 16 years in Dallas as a teacher, administrator, and deputy chief of staff. He's expected to replace the districts last Superintendent, Yolanda Chapa who retired because of health concerns and Doctor Mike Barrera is serving now as interim Superintendent.
