Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that helps young cancer patients, received several hair donations from McAllen residents.
Several McAllen city employees, their family and friends donated their pony tails to Locks of Love. The organization helps children with a condition called Alopecia Areata. The donations will provide custom, vacuum fitted cranial prosthetic wigs. Elizabeth Barrera, a cancer survivor, has been waiting for her chance to make a difference.
Locks of Love has been providing children with quality hair prosthetics in the U.S. and Canada with long term medical hair loss from any diagnosis since 1997.
