MCALLEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — McAllen police are working on a robbery investigation that may be connected to other incidents across the Valley.
Early this morning, officers responded to the 700 block of South 10th Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. after a female victim called police to report a robbery.
The female victim told police that another woman robbed her at knifepoint before leaving in a car with another male suspect.
According to initial information, this robbery may be connected to another robbery that happened in Pharr just after the first one. Pharr police officers responded to the 1500 block of West Military 281 for a reported robbery at approximately 1:30 a.m.
A male victim told police he asked three people in a black Chevy Impala for a ride. A male occupant in that vehicle displayed a handgun and demanded the victim's money.
Shortly after the incident, a vehicle matching that description was seen. A pursuit began when that vehicle refused to stop when an officer attempted a traffic stop, but that chase was called off when it went outside city limits.
Pharr police say Border Patrol reported the suspect vehicle found in a ditch near La Feria.
Three people were located and taken into custody. No confirmation if these three suspects are the same people involved in the McAllen robbery.
We will bring you updates as they become available.
