National Night Out kicked off last night in Hidalgo county at Encinos Park with the McAllen police department.

McAllen residents were able to interact with several law enforcement agencies in a positive basis and enjoyed several games at the event. National Night Out is a nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program. It's also a way for the local community to interact with their public servants in an non-threatening, fun way. Not only was law enforcement at the event, but so was the McAllen Recycling Center, McAllen City Transportation, McAllen Fire Department and a variety of other entertainment groups.
