There was a long line outside the McAllen Police Department on Wednesday morning and handing out a full turkey dinner to needy families. This is the 11th year that McAllen Crime Stoppers, the Police Department, Globe Supermarket and other sponsors came together to help the community and as Police Chief Victor Rodriguez stated, "Over the years we have gotten together and identified families in need for Thanksgiving and today you will see over hundred families here today that will be helped with a full traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It's a very small way, on behalf of the City of McAllen, McAllen Police Department, Crime Stoppers, to say thank you for being apart of our community and thank you for rising up to the occasion."
