McALLEN - Back in the fall, we told you about the McAllen I.S.D.'s initiative to offer 27,000 Apple iPad's to students and teachers in the district and now it's time to make sure everyone knows how to use them.
The school district will be holding orientations and community forums for students and parents to get comfortable with the new devices before they are issued to all the students. Orientation Coordinator Carmen Garcia said, "The parents get to see some videos so that they're familiar with the device and what can happen and the change and instruction and then they go on to answer some questions and then they accept online that they agree to the provisions and then the student is issued the iPad." There will be a community forum on February 7th at 6 PM at Hendrix Elementary in McAllen.
