McAllen I.S.D. Students Kick-Off Red Ribbon Week
Schools across the nation kicked off Red Ribbon Week on Monday to remind children about the dangers of alcohol and drugs.
The McAllen I.S.D. participated in this week's events by having a pep rally and urging students to wear red ribbons. Third and Fourth grade students got the chance to hear speeches and watch drug free presentations and due to the recent drug war on the border, counselors want to remind the kids of the dangers of drugs more than ever. Red Ribbon week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country and designed to educate children about illegal drugs.
