McAllen I.S.D. Holds Orientation for New Teachers

Wednesday, August 10, 2011 - 9:43am

The first day of school may seem daunting for kids, but it can also be difficult for new teachers. So the McAllen I.S.D. is trying to make incoming faculty more comfortable with a pre-semester orientation.

The school district has around 40 new teachers coming into it's elementary, middle and high schools. The orientation gives those educators a chance to check out their online sources and ask questions about their job. To make sure these teachers are motivated, the school district brought in the Region One Teacher of the Year to give out some advice. Teachers will start their first day of school on Thursday and the children will go back to school on August 22nd.
