The McAllen I.S.D. received the ok from the school board to purchase 15 new buses for this school year and hopes to receive more in the upcoming years, Josh Navarro took a tour of those big yellow buses and shows us some of the safety features.

Two of the 15 buses were making their debut on Monday at the McAllen I.S.D.'s Transportation Center. The two buses are special education buses and some of the new safety features include safety latches which are used for students who need to be transported in a car seat and also another feature is the wider windshield for the bus driver.

Each of the buses will cost $84,000 dollars each which will sum up to more than a million dollars for all of the new buses, but the most important feature of the buses, is once the engine is turned off, the driver will have to walk all the way to the back of the bust to turn off an alarm.
