Even though Memorial Day was on Monday the McAllen International Airport received a special gift on Tuesday.

An aluminum sculpture was donated to the airport to remind passengers of local veterans. The piece is called the Aluminum Overture and was created by an international renowned artist. The donators of the sculpture say it represents the countless sacrifices made by veterans. Airport officials say they are honored to receive the sculpture for the City of McAllen and it will hang in the airport terminal lobby.
