In McAllen, an apartment complex is evacuated and several streets were shut down after a three car collision caused a gas leak. It happened on the north side of town and police had to close off a one block radius from Pecan to Main street for about an hour. Emergency crews cleaned up the area and repaired the ruptured gas line.

McAllen Fire Lt. Rene Alaniz says, one of the cars involved in the accident ran into the high pressure gas valve causing it to burst. All three cars sustained significant damage and were towed away. Traffic was back to normal around 6pm and the residents from the apartment complex were let back into their housing at the same time.
