McAllen Fire Dept. to receive FEMA grant
McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Congressman Hinojosa announced that the McAllen Fire Department will be receiving a $2.7 million FEMA grant.
The grant was awarded by FEMA under the Department of Homeland Security through the Assistance to Firefighter's Grant which will provide a boost to the budgets of the fire department and EMS services.
The funding will help in the acquisition of portable radios, mobile radios, seven base stations and one core radio controller.
The AFG application was submitted on behalf of the Rio Grande Valley Communications Group to provide the continued development of the regional radio system.
