McAllen DPS office reopens with new technology options
MCALLEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Department of Public Safety Office reopened and now visits for individuals should go more quickly.
The office on Bicentennial and Pecan Boulevard is back open after being closed for a year.
The Edinburg office is now closed and DPS officials say the updated McAllen office will let visitors make an appointment before they get there.
If visitors are late, they can call or text to be pushed back in line.
DPS Officer Sgt. Johnny Hernandez stated, "It's a new technology, we only have it here at the McAllen driver's license office for here in the Valley and it's something that pretty exciting. If you're running late and you don't really have to be here at this office, you can be doing your errands and still be here in line."
