Brownsville's Mayor Pat Ahumada is at the center of more controversy, now that a second allegation involving money has been revealed.
Mayor Pat Ahumada already faces trial for a case in which, investigators say, a 26-thousand dollar check was deposited in his account.
Now, the Cameron County District Attorney's office subpeoned travel records involving the Mayor.
Ahumada's Lawyer, Ed Cyganiewicz says, investigators are currently reviewing travel expenses from a $2,000 trip, Ahumada took to Tampico, Mexico, back in December of 2007.
Ahumada took a trip to Mexico for a trade show, which the city paid for.
That trip is what's being looked over, so all money can be accounted for.
Cyganiewicz says, a City Commissioner raised the issue to Brownsville Police and the Cameron County DA's office.
His attorney says, these allegations are un-justified.
"There's nothing inappropriate, there's nothing illegal, all the traveling, and money was justified and if you look at the records closely he actually paid money out of his own pocket."
The Mayor, he says, dished money out of his own pocket to charter a private plane.
That's where some of these issues may have stemmed from.
At this time, records from the trip have just been seized.
There are no formal charges brought against him.

As for the 26-thousand dollar check case, the Mayor faces pre-trial in June.
