The Marine Military Academy summer camp graduates 334 young men
HARLINGEN, TX —
On Saturday, July 26, 334 young men will graduate from Marine Military Academy’s renowned summer camp program. The boys will then return to their hometowns stronger, sharper and more disciplined than when they arrived 28 days earlier.
Before heading home, every camper will participate in the field meet and then the graduation parade and ceremony. The five-event field meet takes place at 5 p.m. July 25 at the MMA stadium. The MMA Summer Camp Graduation Parade begins at 9 a.m. July 26 on the MMA Parade Grounds. Immediately following the parade, each company will hold a graduation ceremony in front of the barracks. Each young man will then receive his certificate of completion.
Never does MMA have more visitors during the year then at the conclusion of summer camp. More than 800 family members from across the country and around the world will come to MMA to watch the campers compete, march and graduate.
MMA Summer Camp is a military adventure camp for young men ages 12-17. In a month’s time, campers participate in at least 30 military exercises and sports – from archery to ziplining. Run by U.S. Marines, the tight camp structure and highly physical and challenging activities are designed to improve the fitness, focus and self-confidence of the campers and build their self-discipline, character and leadership skills.
