Heroic actions by dog and police save blind Texas man from fire. Alicia Neaves reports.

(KWES) It was an act of heroism.

A blind Odessa, Texas man was rescued after a fire started in his home, but it wasn't a fire alarm that woke him up.

It was his dog.

Charles Kennedy was sleeping when it began early Saturday morning.
He says if it weren't for the heroic acts of the Odessa Police Department, and of his dog, he probably wouldn't be alive.

"If it went on longer, and if it had gotten worse, I may not be here," Odessa resident, 76-year-old Charles Kennedy, said.
