Man suspected of killing cyclist gets lower bond
EDINBURG, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The suspect who police say ran his pickup over a cyclist in Edinburg can get out of jail for less money.
Emilio Gomez is suspected of hitting Eduardo Aguelles in the early morning of April 17. Police say they found Gomez trying to dump Arguelles' body in a canal. Gomez was originally given a $2.25 million bond.
On Monday, Judge Rudy Delgado lowered that amount to $1 million dollars.
Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra says the original bond was lowered because it was excessive.
