Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened around 9:30 this morning after man demanded money through the drive thru.
“She followed instructions and gave the bank robber the cash he was asking.”
President of Lone Star National Bank in Pharr told us the robber didn't take much. Although he couldn't give us a specific dollar amount, he said it was less than $3,000.
David Deanda says his employees go through several training sessions throughout the year and one of those sessions is specifically on bank robberies. They are trained to stay calm, follow directions, give the robber what is demanded and get them out of the bank as quickly as possible without anyone getting hurt.
“They all acted responsibly. Did everything appropriately follow instructions? I’m very proud of them.”
The Pharr Police Department and the FBI are looking for a clean shaven, Hispanic male in his 20's on a white passenger vehicle. The suspect was seeing leaving the bank and headed southbound on Cage Boulevard. Police and investigators are also reviewing the bank's surveillance video in hopes to find the robber.
If you have any information on the suspect or the vehicle, you're asked to call the Pharr Crime Stoppers at: 787-tips.
