A man who authorities say was involved in the murder of a woman yesterday is now in jail.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 33-year-old Abel Javier Jaime Sanchez on a first degree murder charge.

He's accused of murdering his wife, 27-year-old Daniella Ramos.

Her body was discovered in their home off of 6 Mile Line off FM 492 early yesterday morning.  Authorites found Ramos with a gun shot wound in her torso.  A pending autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death.

Witnesses told investigators that they heard the couple arguing before the shooting.

"Our investigators do believe that this was a case of domestic violence," said JP Rodriguez, spokesperson for the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.  "The victim is the spouse of the suspect.  They did recover the firearm, which is a 38-caliber revolver."

Sanchez is charged with first-degree felony murder.  His bond is set at $1 million.

According to Judge Homer Jasso, Sanchez and the victim have three kids together.

Rodriguez confirmed that the children are currently in the custody of the victim's next of kin.
