Man Accused of Intoxication Manslaughter Wanted by Brownsville Police

A man's bad decision behind the wheel ends in death for one of his passengers.

Now authorities are searching for the man accused of intoxication manslaughter.

Jacinto Martinez Mejia is wanted by Brownsville Police on the serious charge.

Back in early October authorities say the 46 year old was traveling with two passengers down Paredes Line when he lost control of the mini-van he was driving and flipped.

"Jose Gonzales, 37 year of age, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident." said Brownsville Police Dept., Public Information Officer, Eddie Garcia.

Another passenger in the vehicle, and Martinez Mejia, were severely injured, but survived, they both were hospitalized.

"There was blood drawn from the driver, from Mejia, which was sent to DPS for analysis." said Garcia.

The results of that came back showing that Martinez Mejia was highly intoxicated during the time of the fatal crash.

He's now wanted on intoxication manslaughter charges and police need your help tracking the alleged drunk driver down.

"At the time of the accident, the last known address of this person, was an address in Cameron Park, the new information is that he might have fled to Mexico." said Garcia.
