A man accused of killing his girlfriend then running from police is now behind bars facing murder charges.

Prosecutors say Jose Luis Cantu murdered his girlfriend, 16 year-old Nelly Casas, because she cheated on him. After the murder he ran to Mexico and authorities there say he did confess to the murder. A judge officially charged him in the 2006 murder and he is set for a pre-trial hearing in early February.
