Lowes Pulls AllAmerican Muslim Ads
Retailer faces backlash from both sides; calls show a "lightning-rod".
The Muslim community is considering a national boycott of Lowe's Home Improvement after the store pulled its ad from a cable TV show about Muslim life.
The chain stopped advertising on the show "All-American Muslim" after receiving complaints from a conservative group called the Florida Family Association.
A statement from Lowe's says the ad was pulled from TLC's "All-American Muslim", because the "program became a lightning rod" on the "various political and societal views on the topic."
The show features the lives of five Muslim families in Dearborn, Michigan.
The executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations says the show is less controversial than some other reality shows.
Iman Dawud Walid says some supporters are considering a nationwide boycott.
