Thousands of Valley Residents are left without power after severe storms truck earlier.
American Electric Power, or AEP is reporting 6, 473 customers are without power in Cameron County.
872 customers in Hidalgo County were left without power after the storm blew thru the area.
Crews are working to restore power to the affected areas.
Lightning lit up the sky, and rain came pouring down in gallons, across the Valley.
Although the storm did not last long, it did leave behind a mess in some places.
In Los Fresnos, Police say, winds knocked down a power line on Highway 100 and FM 1575.
Power crews fixed everything quickly, within a matter of hours.
Traffic once again flowed, on the flooded streets, and thankfully, families got their power back.
With today's rainfall, and the possibility of future storms, News Center hit the "wet" streets to see what Los Fresnos residents thought about today's weather.
Eddie Cruz says, "The wind was terrible, branches everywhere, we needed the rain, thank you God."
Priseno Luis says, "I'm not really willing to see another hurricane come thru here, no matter what, whatsoever, no way."
After the storm came and went, a rainbow could be seen arched over the skyline.
A sign that today's storm is a thing of the past, at least until the next storm hits.
Emergency officials say, it's a never too early to start getting prepared for the upcoming hurricane season, which begins on Monday.
They say, it's a good idea to start picking up generators, batteries, water bottles, and plywood for your windows.
