Los Fresnos C.I.S.D. is leaving donations for migrant students in the hands of local parents.

Money for this program comes from the No Child Left Behind Act, which has provided migrant students with school essentials for the coming year.

Parents of migrant students in the district piled into the CCTA office to pick up packages of school supplies and clothes for their children.

The contents of the packages varied depending on what grade the students are in, but many supplies included writing utensils and calculators as Federal Programs Coordinator Noe Guillen commented, "Here at Los Fresnos CISD, our migrant students play a huge role in our academic success. Right now parents are coming in and getting the school supplies for their children. This will help with the academic success for our kids in the classroom and also provide them with a little more comfort zone when it comes to school supplies."
