Craigslist Call Girl Follow Up

By Kenny Lopez

As we reported last night prostitution in the Valley has gone high-tech on a popular classified ad site Craigslist.org.

Local women are easily selling sex on the site, primarily targeting young people. Kenny Lopez followed up with law enforcement to find out if they now plan to crack down on these women of the night, and those who solicit them.

The report, is now shining on a white light, on this red light industry. We found Nadia, one of many call girls, on Craigslist.org. She thought she was going to get paid for sex, at a Harlingen hotel and we surprised her, when she realized we were trying to unravel a story, on the Internet prostitutes in the Valley.

After the story, aired, Harlingen police, say they've taken notice. Cyber prostitution, has not been a top priority for Harlingen police, but spokesman, Officer David Osborne says, they are aware it exists.

Technology, which Osborne says, they want to patrol more, especially with the high danger of sexually transmitted disease spread, from these prostitutes. He says, those hungry men, seeking prostitutes, need to watch out.

Nadia may have gotten off easy this time, as for other erotic Craigslist girls for hire, Osborne says they will be logging on, to bust these sexual criminals.

We logged on to Craigslist and Nadia's as is no longer there. We also, spoke with McAllen police, and they say, they have a cyber crime unit, which busts prostitutes. Brownsville police say, they where not aware of Craigslist prostitution, but recognize that it's a problem.
