Brownsville school's are among the elite in the country, and up for a prestigious educational award.

The Board Foundation awards 500,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. They chose schools who demonstrate overall performance and improvement in student achievement while reducing achievement gaps among ethnic groups and between high and low income students.

The Board Foundation based out of Los Angeles will be touring Brownsville school all this week to determine if they will be chose the winner.
