A Valley field of more than 100 acres of grass went up in flames. Firefighters got the call at about noon with Brownsville and Los Fresnos Fire Departments put out the flames before anything was severely damaged.
It flared up just off Highway 48 across from Keppel Amfels, two engine companies and two boosters were used to battle the fire. Officials say no one was hurt and no structures were damaged. It is now up to the Brownsville Navigation District to investigate the cause because the fire happened is on its property.
