With summer just around the corner, temperatures are only going higher and our electric bills will head that same direction.

So it was interesting to watch an electric company make a house as energy efficient as possible against the summer heat. TXU Home Energy stopped in the Valley to do what they call a "Home Energy Makeover," and the lucky homeowner lives in Harlingen.

TXU Energy changed out traditional bulbs for energy efficient light bulbs, caulked the home's windows and doors to keep the cool air in and the hot air out.

Here's a tidbit they shared with us, having a refrigerator and freezer in your garage can cost from $40 to $100 dollars per month on your electric bill.
