Expect delays for the next several months on one of Brownsville's busiest roadways.

The Texas Department of Transportation will be resurfacing a section on Ruben Torres between the expressway and Parades Line road which is in front of Sunrise Mall.

An elevated concrete island with designated left turn areas will be placed into the roadway to assit in the flow of traffic, but in the meantime, officers will be on duty monitoring and assisting traffic.

Transportation officials are asking motorist to seek alternative routes until the project is complete in November 2008.
