A Valley army soldier was killed in the line of duty in Iraq.

The Gonzalez family in Mission just got word that their son, 21 year-old, Alex Gonzalez died in a rocket attack on his unit, while fighting in Iraq. His cousin says it's been extremely tough on all of the family since being told of the news of Alex's death.

The family says, Alex, was a very out going guy, who loved football and a 2005 graduate of Mission High School. Gonzalez is the second soldier from Mission to pass away this year from fighting in Iraq. 24 year-old, Sgt. Jose Rubio died in late March also in Iraq.
