Summer electric bills can add up quickly in the Valley. One utility company is offering some simple tips for saving a buck or two.
When buying a new appliance such as a refrigerator make sure it has an energy star emblem. That means it is approved by the government as a device which uses less energy, saves money, and helps protect the environment. Another suggestion: switch to incandescent light bulbs with compact florescent lights. It will be 72% more energy efficient.
These energy saving tips are just a few that the Green Mountain Energy Company is offering before Earth Day which is just a few weeks away.
