An old H-E- B warehouse in Harlingen forced evacuation of 16 homes last night, and crews are still working on the structure, trying to find out what caused the blaze.
This was the scene last night as a flames tore through an old H-E-B warehouse near Commerce Street. It required a big response and a day later crews still continue to work on putting out hot spots.
Rosa Reyes whose home is near the blaze, is one of many people evacuated late last night because embers thrown off from the warehouse were threatening homes.
Reyes grabbed her pets in pajamas during the evacuation. She says something needs to be done about these abandoned buildings.
No homes ended up being damaged and no homeowner ended up hurt. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
Harlingen's fire prevention unit will be conducting the investigation to determine the cause.
