Local Restaurants See Increase in Sales

As prices at the pump surge, residents aren't cutting back from some of the luxuries in order to meet budget.

Last year, national restaurant sales increased a little more than 8% and just this February alone sales rose nearly 1%. The gas prices don't seem to keep residents from dining out and one restaurant owner says the steep gas prices haven't affected her customers from coming in to dine, "Right now, despite the economy and all we are thriving. It's been doing really good, especially since the beginning of the year, we've seen a big increase."

Other businesses with increased sales include motor vehicle and auto parts dealers along with clothing stores.
