EDINBURG, Texas - University of Texas Rio Grande Valley medical students will run a clinic in the city of Peñitas starting next week.
Once every month students will set up shop at the Proyecto Desarrollo Humano. The student-run clinics will provide free healthcare services to medically underserved communities. Medical students will treat patients under the supervision of clinical faculty.
The students chose to start their first clinic in Peñitas, because there is a high demand for healthcare services, but limited access.
